Faith and Prophecy 

The only foundation for true faith isthe Word of God . Any spiritual believe ,how strong and dedicated itmay be ,that is not firmly based on the foundation of the Word of God,cannot be reckoned as faith .

Romans1:16-17 MKJV

(16) For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is thepower of God unto salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jewfirst and also to the Greek.

(17) For in it the righteousness of God is revealed fromfaith to faith,as it is written, "The just shalllive by faith."

The first “faith” in verse 17refers to the faith that is given to us by God . It is a gift ofgrace . You cannot earn it in any way . Not by works ,nor by yourfirm belief in spiritual things .

Your whole life depends on this gift offaith from God . Without it you cannot live in the Spirit .

The second “faith” refers to yourreaction to this gift of faith that you received from God . God'sgift of faith to you will have no effect on your life unless youreact to it's presence in your heart .

God does not leave it up to your owneffort only to react to His gift of faith . God does not require youto believe first before He will give you faith . No, the Holy Spiritgives you the power and will to react to the faith of God in you .The only way you can miss it is by constantly working hard to get ridof God's presence in your heart . You can't help God to enter yourheart . By His grace He is in your heart long before you become awareof His presence in you . Isn't He an awesome God . He gives us Hisfaith first to make it possible for us to believe .

You see ,you cannot turn the order offaith in verse 17 around by saying , “if I have faith in God , thenHe will give me more faith . No , the Word says , God gave you Hislife first in the form of faith . You will react to it by the powerand unction of the Holy Spirit .

Only the Word of God can keep yourfaith alive . You can very easily believe in many things that is notbased on the Word of God . When you do that , then you are mislead .The Holy Spirit will convince you that you must be careful in whatyou believe now . If you ignore it ,then you will grow in themisleading .

Many people think if they firmlybelieve something then it must come to past ,because they don't doubtthat it will come to pass . They believe if they say it over and overto themselves and other people then their chances for it to happensoon ,becomes better and better . Many times this end up in greatsorrow and pain and distrust in themselves and God .

The point is ,make sure that yourpromise comes from the Word of God only . You must be able to trackdown the origin of what you believe in the Word of God . You canfirmly believe in something that is not based on the Word ,and it isnot going to happen for you .

Many preachers and other people dishout prophesies to people that is not based on the Word . Any prophesymust confirm the word that you found in the Word of God and treasurein your heart already . No prophesy can originate in any person ever. True prophesy can only originate from God . You cannot discover itwhen someone else tells you about it . No, a true prophet can onlytell you what God revealed in your heart through His Word already .Then their prophesy is true and it will encourage and strengthen you.

If someone gives me a prophetic word ,then I will only accept it as a Word from God if I can trace it backto things that God revealed to me previously in His Word . If theysay things that I did not expect spiritually ,then I will not acceptit as a Word from God . Faith comes by the faith from God . When youreceive Word from God through faith ,then there is always anexpectancy in your heart that it will come to pass . A true prophetwill always meet you at that point where you have the expectancy ofwhat they are saying already in your heart . There words will confirmGod's Word in your heart and strengthen and encourage you .

Early this morning God spoke to me about some of the things that are in vain in life . That means that you are doing things that will be of no benefit at all . In other words you wasted valuable time , energy and resources on something that added no value to your life at all .

You see ,God's value system is different from the world's value system . The Word of God helps us to do the things that will positively add value to our lives .

Let's go to the Word for the right answers .

Psalms 127:1-2 KJV

(1) <A Song of degrees for Solomon.> Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

(2) It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.

Principles :

1 ONLY God must build your house ,that is your life and everything that is connected to it .

It includes your job ,family life ,social life , finances ,yes everything you are involved in

If God is not the sole builder and protector of your house ,then ALL your labour is in vain . All your labour will add no value to your life .

Hebrews 11:6 KJV

(6) But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.

2 Possibly the most important factor in your life right now is FAITH .Love is greater ,but you need faith to get to perfect love . The Word is very clear about the fact that FAITH is a complete , nothing missing , nothing that must be added to it ,GIFT from God.

Ephesians 2:8-9 MKJV

(8) For by grace you are saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God,

(9) not of works, lest anyone should boast.

Grace and the faith are gifts from God. You can do absolutely nothing to have more faith or to receive greater mercy from God . He gave it to the max to you , but Heb 6 also speak about BELIEVE . Believe is not the same as faith . There is faith and there is belief . Belief is your activation , appropriation ,making use of the FAITH that God planted in your heart when you believed in Him as God of everything . All people received the same measure of faith . Not all people believe the same though. Some people make better use of their faith than others . They receive more ,and have more power ,peace and joy .

Because you believe , you will diligently seek Him , you know for sure ,not by your feelings or emotions ,but in the powerful realm of your spirit ,that God will definitely reward your belief .

Different Bible translations translated faith and belief according to their hearts content . The result is that some translations speak of “little faith “ or even “no faith” . Now that is not possible according to other verses that tell us what faith is . It makes it a lot easier if we simply distinguish between faith and believe .

Allow me to show you very briefly that faith is a gift of God to every person . Not only to born again believers ,but to all people . Without the gift of faith no person will ever “find” God (God actually “find” them first ) and believe in Him . No it is because of His gift of faith that you can believe in Him in the first instance . Belief is not part of every person though . They have the faith but they don't activate or appropriate or making use of it at all . They will not recognize the Kingdom of God and many other revelations from the Word of God .

Romans 1:17 KJV

(17) For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

This verse shows us that faith comes from God and that you shall live by it . You need faith to understand the revelation of righteousness . In other words ,that you are completely forgiven en can now openly and confidently stand in the presence of God and call Him your Father . If you don't receive faith initially ,then you can't find true life , that is it . It also says that the JUST shall live by faith . The unjust also received faith ,but they are not making use of it and are therefore still spiritually dead .

Romans 3:22 KJV

(22) Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

This is very interesting . Righteousness comes to us by the faith OF Jesus Christ in the first place . It doesn't say “ by faith IN Jesus Christ “ , no by His faith we received faith . This faith is unto

ALL ,meaning it is the portion of everyone , but it is also ( “AND”) “UPON them that believe” . Now what is the difference between UNTO and UPON . Unto indicates that it is given TO them . UPON indicates that they have appropriated it already . Compare it with a verse like “ the Spirit of the Lord is UPON me”. The Spirit is not only present ,it is appropriated in a specific person

which have the right to say “the Spirit is specifically present in me” .

Romans 12:3 KJV

(3) For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

Sweet and short . Every man received THE MEASURE of faith . Not A MEASURE of faith which could be little of great faith . THE measure is the full measure that Christ Himself received from God and gave to us as well .

1 Timothy 1:14 KJV

(14) And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

The FAITH and LOVE which is IN Christ Jesus came to us ,by the GRACE of our Lord . It is sufficient , as the GRACE is exceeding abundant ,so are the FAITH and LOVE exceeding abundant . It is in you , make use of it .

You CANNOT please God if you don't appropriate ,activate ,make use of your gift of faith . That does NOT mean that He is angry with you ,or will REJECT you because you don't believe in His abundant provision . God still loves you . He loved you when you were still His enemy . He will still provide and protect you . He will do everything possible in order for you to trust Him . He will bring you to faith even if you resist Him because of your fleshly weaknesses . God is a good God . To please Him by faith means a continuous flow of His power and blessings in your life . You will have life and have it more abundantly then .

John 10:10 MKJV

(10) The thief does not come except to steal and to kill and to destroy. I have come so that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Hebrews 11:5-6 MKJV

(5) By faith Enoch was translated so as not to see death, and he was not found, because God had translated him; for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

(6) But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

To diligently seek Him means to keep your eye on Him ,whatever circumstances prevail around you . You are not sidetracked by either good or bad circumstances . You seek after His Word and listen to it and obey it .

This brings us to the next important aspect of faith . If you first want to SEE before you DO ,then you don't walk by FAITH but by SIGHT . That will bring you a lot of disappointment and lack in your life . You must make good peace with the fact that God will always require the much more difficult decision for your flesh ,namely to trust Him , to trust His voice , His guidance by the Holy Spirit and venture into the things you know God promised you by the Holy Spirit and by His Word. You go in without any guarantees whatsoever . It is not difficult for your spirit to believe without seeing . It is difficult for your mind to act contrary the norm in the world which says “seeing is believing “ . Your spirit says “believing is seeing” . It is a battle of the MIND .

That does not mean that faith is BLIND . Your faith is a SPIRIT of FAITH . You grow in the Spirit of faith when your spirit subdue your mind . You remember all the good things God has done in your life when you trusted in Him in the past . You learn to trust in Him only . You have many examples where you obeyed His Word and it worked .You know God does not ever change ,it will definitely work again . You also have examples where you misinterpreted His wil and suffered (not too much,because He will always work it out for good when you love Him ,even if your decision was wrong ) . You also have experience of How He is talking to you . It becomes easier to trust in Him because you grow in experiencing the power of your Spirit . Your Spirit is the powerful “force” by which you can overcome any weakness or circumstances in your life .

(13) For we, having the same spirit of faith ......

1 Timothy 6:12 MKJV

(12) Fight the good fight of faith. Lay hold on eternal life, to which you are also called and have professed a good profession before many witnesses.

The last aspect . You will only truly LIVE by faith . To try and live by anything else will surely end up in a LIFE failure for you . Some people try to live by money and riches , or to live by power , or to live by fame and popularity . Such a life will surely FAIL . Remember you may die rich or powerful ,people may say at your funeral “ what a successful man /woman “ ,but that is NOT the end . You will still need perfect LOVE to enjoy the PRESENCE of God . GOD IS LOVE . Without perfect LOVE you will not get close to Him at all . You left all the sorrows and vain things like wealth and power behind on the earth . Only your love will count now . It is the greatest of everything . Everything else will end . You need faith , hope (which is the result of believing God ) and love .

(11) But that no one is justified by the Law in the sight of God is clear, for, "The just shall live by faith."

(2) And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not love, I am nothing.

1 Corinthians 13:13 KJVCNT

(13) And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

1 Corinthians 13:8 MSG

(8) Love never dies. Inspired speech will be over some day; praying in tongues will end; understanding will reach its limit.

Matthew 24:12-13 KJV

(12) And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

(13) But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

FEAR is UNBELIEF . FAITH is the opposite of FEAR . You need FAITH to conquer all FEAR . Where there is fear there is also a lack of LOVE . You need FAITH to become PERFECTED in Love .

FAITH is only possible when you KEEP His Word . You can't have faith (believe) when you disobey His Word .

1 John 2:5 MKJV

(5) But whoever keeps His Word, truly in this one the love of God is perfected. By this we know that we are in Him.

1 John 4:16-21 MKJV

(16) And we have known and believed the love that God has in us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.

(17) In this is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment, that as He is, so also we are in this world.

(18) There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has torment. He who fears has not been perfected in love.

(19) We love Him because He first loved us.

(20) If anyone says, I love God, and hates his brother, he is a liar. For if he does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?

(21) And we have this commandment from Him, that he who loves God should love his brother also.

If you compete against your brothers to get hold of money before they do ,then you don't love them . If you live by faith ,then you know God is my ONLY provider . Nobody can keep the money God intended for me , away from me . Your source of money is not from below but from above . You can love your brothers from below . You can give to them ,money ,opportunities etc . It will confirm that you love them and it won't make you any poorer . It cannot cause you to have any lack . You are on your way to be perfected in love . You are getting richer and richer in love , the GREATEST of all . You become like God . He is love , He is busy right now to perfect you in Love . Walk by faith only . You will get there for sure .

Many years ago there was a program on a South African radio station with the name of “Money or the Box” . Participants could choose between a sum of money or a box with something unknown to them, in it , after answering certain questions correctly . The contents in the box were either almost worthless or something very expensive and of high value . The sum of money were always known to them . The catch was you could either receive something far more expensive and valuable than what the money could buy , or you could actually loose out on a sum of money that you could get ,by choosing a box with something almost worthless in it .

I thought of this program when I read from John 6 this morning .

Similar to the radio competition, there was a choice between money or resources in hand . Of course the reward was completely different than the radio competition in the sense that any reward from God is immeasurably valuable to the taker . God will always out-give , even your highest expectations in faith .

Let's go to John 6 .

John 6:1-5 BBE

(1) After these things Jesus went away to the other side of the sea of Galilee--that is, the sea of Tiberias.

(2) And a great number of people went after him because they saw the signs which he did on those who were ill.

(3) Then Jesus went up the mountain and was seated there with his disciples.

(4) Now the Passover, a feast of the Jews, was near.

(5) Lifting up his eyes, Jesus saw a great number of people coming to where he was, and he said to Philip, Where may we get bread for all these people?

Principle 1

Your great reward is always given in a situation where you decide to follow Christ ,come what may

Principle 2

To follow Him will always be more difficult than the normal things and choices in life .

Principle 3

Just when you think you have made it ,He will even ask more of you , to stretch your commitment to Him even further .

When the people caught up with Jesus at the other end of the sea of Galilee , He went up the mountain as well . He made it even more difficult for the people to follow Him .

Principle 4

It is impossible for God not to see your commitment . It is impossible for Him not to reward you .

Every person received their reward that followed Him right to the end . Jesus looked with compassion at all the people . His great desire was for everyone to receive their reward as well . We only see the bread and fish they received ,but don't forget He is also the bread of life ,don't forget that a greater reward comes with the physical reward , namely a spiritual reward ,where you get to know and trust God better . To know the King of the Universe gives us a reward that nothing on earth can be compared to . Verse 5 : “Where may we get bread for all these people?” . Do you see His compassion for you in these words ? .

Verse 1 : Jesus went to the OTHER SIDE of the sea of Galilee . It is quite a distance ,even by boat to travel after Jesus . It is even more difficult to go around by foot . It was also time consuming . It meant ,no wages and work for about a week , in the natural sense for many people . We can assume that there was also many sick people among them . Verse 2 says they followed Him because they saw how He could heal the sick . Well ,the Word says they stuck to Him ,they followed Him ,even when He made it really difficult for them to do so . I mean Jesus could easily just stayed where they were and do the miracles right there , quick and easy for them to experience . Why did He not do it that way ? .

Principle 5

The circumstances and attitude of your heart leading up to the moment when you receive a great reward from God is infinitely more important than the reward itself .

Principle 6

God will always set up a test ,not for Him to know your heart , He knows it already ,but for you to know that you are able to follow Him in faith and always receive , not only a physical reward ,but very valuable spiritual growth as well .

That is why Jesus made it difficult for the crowd to follow Him ,and keep following Him . I presume many people turned around and left Him the moment it start to cost them something in the form of effort , time and even money .

Something very interesting happened then .

One disciple chose the money option

Another disciple chose the box option ,the option of available resources .

Which is the best option ?

Do you remember widow in the days of Elijah ?

Do you remember the lame beggar at the temple ?

By examining them , we can discover the right answer

In the widows case the money option was not even given . She saved her and her family's life's by going the way of available resources . She gave away her last resources to live from to Elijah .

If you read the whole story you will discover that she gained more than she could ever imagine . The way of the resources took her out of a downward spiral of poverty and death . It changed her whole life . It changed the life's of her family as well

The beggar at the temple expected money , but Peter and John gave him the box . They gave him a spiritual experience , they gave him their available resource ,namely their faith . He received much ,much more than just a mere handout in the form of money . He received the power to believe . It raised him up from poverty and a inability to walk . It gave him the opportunity to know God better . To come into close contact with the power of God . God is still the same today . You can receive it as well .

1 Kings 17:10-15 BBE

(10) So he got up and went to Zarephath; and when he came to the door of the town, he saw a widow woman getting sticks together; and crying out to her he said, Will you give me a little water in a vessel for my drink?

(11) And when she was going to get it, he said to her, And get me with it a small bit of bread.

(12) Then she said, By the life of the Lord your God, I have nothing but a little meal in my store, and a drop of oil in the bottle; and now I am getting two sticks together so that I may go in and make it ready for me and my son, so that we may have a meal before our death.

(13) And Elijah said to her, Have no fear; go and do as you have said, but first make me a little cake of it and come and give it to me, and then make something for yourself and your son.

(14) For this is the word of the Lord, the God of Israel: The store of meal will not come to an end, and the bottle will never be without oil, till the day when the Lord sends rain on the earth.

(15) So she went and did as Elijah said; and she and he and her family had food for a long time.

Acts 3:4-8 BBE

(4) And Peter, looking at him, with John, said, Keep your eyes on us.

(5) And he gave attention to them, hoping to get something from them.

(6) But Peter said, I have no silver or gold, but what I have, that I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, get up on your feet.

(7) And he took him by his right hand, lifting him up; and straight away his feet and the bones of his legs became strong,

(8) And, jumping up, he got on to his feet and went into the Temple with them, walking and jumping and giving praise to God.

Ok so now we have the answer . Take the option of available resources rather than to ask for money ,when you are in need of something . When you are prepared to follow God ,to trust God , look out for a multiplication of your available resources ,rather than receiving money to help you for a short time only .

Let me explain it .

John 6:5-13 BBE

(5) Lifting up his eyes, Jesus saw a great number of people coming to where he was, and he said to Philip, Where may we get bread for all these people?

(6) This he said, testing him: for he had no doubt what he himself would do.

(7) Philip made answer, Bread to the value of two hundred pence would not be enough even to give everyone a little.

(8) One of his disciples, Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, said to Jesus,

(9) There is a boy here with five barley cakes and two fishes: but what is that among such a number?

(10) Jesus said, Let the people be seated. Now there was much grass in that place. And those seated on the grass were about five thousand.

(11) Then Jesus took the cakes and having given praise to God, he gave them to the people who were seated, and the fishes in the same way, as much as they had need of.

(12) And when they had had enough, Jesus said to his disciples, Take up the broken bits which are over, so that nothing may be wasted.

(13) So they took them up: twelve baskets full of broken bits of the five cakes which were over after the people had had enough.

Philip translated their needs into a monetary need immediately . He figured out that MONEY would relieve or solve their problem . He wasn't wrong . Jesus could have just as well multiplied the money ,but there was a BETTER option . The money option would have forced them to ask for help and to spend a lot of time to go and buy bread . They would have needed people to go with and help them to carry all the bread . Imagine the sudden load they would have put on the baker and his suppliers to provide the ingredients and bake the bread . The people that committed themselves to Jesus would have received bread only if the MONEY route were chosen by Jesus . They would not have seen the miracle unfolding before their eyes . They would have considered it merely as bread from the bakery . It would have left them stranded in their normal way of buying bread from the bakery .

Jesus chose the available resources option . It did not only provided bread for them ,but also a miracle and accompanying power to even believe stronger in the Son of God . It is always the best option . Look what you have available and ask God to multiply it for you . In every case in the Bible their was always something available that could be multiplied in their possession . They just had to open their eyes and recognize that the solution is in their hands . It always looked insufficient to their eyes ,but their faith held onto God and they received far above what they could imagine .

Principle 7

The provision ,the solution is always in your possession at the time when your need is critical .

Principle 8

God's provision ,after your commitment to follow Him ,even through difficult circumstances ,will always be enough . : 12 “ they had enough” .

Principle 9

When you receive God's provision for you ,you will always have more than enough to help other people from your abundance as well .

Principle 10

Be thank full and respect what God gave you . Don't let anything be wasted . Pick up even the small and insignificant pieces and leftovers , it will bring great relieve and joy to other people in need .

John 6:14 BBE

(14) And when the people saw the sign which he had done, they said, Truly, this is the prophet who is to come into the world.

It is always interesting for me to look at the words people utter immediately after they experienced the Power ,Glory or Presence of God in their midst .

In this case it is a sure give away that they understood the importance of the Christ to FUNCTION in THIS WORLD . Sadly many Christians have a fly away , go away , leave the world ,leave the earth to be destructed believe system . It is not what the Word teach us . It is very important for us to function IN THIS WORLD . God will provide for us ,even by miracles to enable us to be healthy and prosperous ,to be sufficiently provided for in THIS WORLD . We are a city on a hill for the sake of this world to understand that we have a heavenly father that can easily provide for us in here . The whole earth will be filled with His Gory in this way . Don't condemn , no, show the power of God's provision in you, to the world . The world think in terms of “if I could just get the money “ or “I don't have the money to do “ this or that . God's children says “ I will look at what I have available in my hand , my God is able to multiply it to such an extend that I will have more than enough for my own needs as well as the needs of many people around me .

The following Scripture is often misinterpreted :

Luke 19:10 KJV

(10) For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

The Scripture refers to THAT which is lost , not to THOSE who are lost . Jesus wasn't looking for lost people to save them from hell . His focus was to restore THAT which was lost . What was lost ? . The Kingdom was lost . Mankind lost the promises of dominion in a Kingdom on earth ( Gen 1:26 ) . He came to restore that . Of course the Kingdom is IN people . Complete salvation came to them when the Kingdom is restored . They were not only saved from destruction that sin worked in them . They were also given an life of abundance in the Kingdom of God , which operates on earth of course .

Let's go to the Scripture in Luke 19 .

Luke 19:3 KJV

(3) And he sought to see Jesus who He was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature.

This is the first important clue about the Kingdom and Zacchaeus . He SEEKED after Jesus to find our WHO HE WAS . See if you discover Who He really is , then you open up the Kingdom of God for you and your house . You don't need a local church to find out Who Jesus really is . You need His Presence to change you and your circumstances . Look at this :

Matthew 6:31-33 KJV

(31) Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

(32) (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

(33) But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Zacchaeus did not allow his little stature and the pressing crowd to prevent him from coming into contact with Jesus . He was a rich man ,but he swallowed his pride and climbed up the tree in front of all those people .

If you allow ANY-thing ,like time ,position ,distance ,other people etc. to hinder or even prevent you from coming into contact with Jesus and the Kingdom ,then you will not find Him ,nor the Kingdom . That doesn't mean that you will “go to hell” .It means that you will struggle unnecessary right through your life to keep everything together . Instead of all your own struggles , you could have everything ADDED onto you by God in a perfect and highly successful way . In other words you could have a life where God is the only Provider of everything that you could ever need . Not only in your finances ,but also in your marriage and health and relationships with other people . Think carefully about that ! .You may think you know Him ,but you don't , believe me . If you find Him truly , nothing can ever stop you from entering into the Kingdom of God .

Luke 19:4 KJV

(4) And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way.

Jesus was only passing through the town , but Zacchaeus faith altered the whole program of God . Everything in heaven comes into action whenever there is faith present in someone to receive the Kingdom of God in his/her life .

Luke 19:5 LITV

(5) And as He came to the place, looking up, Jesus saw him, and said to him, Zaccheus, hurry, come down, for today I must stay in your house.

At this stage the TEST was set up by Jesus . Zacchaeus could say “well He doesn't impress me”

and moved on with his life . I mean there were many other people present that were not impressed by Jesus at all . Actually some of them spoke out against Him .The secret was that Zacchaeus was prepared and motivated by the Holy Spirit to receive the Kingdom . Zacchaeus had a choice ,but he was well prepared to make the right choice . His HEART was right before God .

The test is always a test of OBEDIENCE . God will only require obedience from you after you experienced the anointing of the Kingdom of God present in a man or woman of God . Many people experience the anointing and then continue in their old way of doing things . They will always bring up excuses of why they cannot come to hear and experience more of the Word about the Kingdom of God .Many things will hinder and prevent them then , because they opened the door to God's opposition to prevent them . They fail the test right there ,because they did not obey His commands .

Luke 14:16-21 MKJV

(16) And He said to him, A certain man made a great supper and invited many.

(17) And he sent his servant at supper time to say to those who were invited, Come, for all things are now ready.

(18) And all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said to him, I have bought a piece of ground, I must go and see it. I beg you, have me excused.

(19) And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going to test them. I beg you, have me excused.

(20) And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.

(21) And coming up that servant reported these things to his lord. And the master of the house, being angry, said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city and bring in here the poor and the maimed, and the lame and the blind.

Luke 14:24 MKJV

(24) For I say to you that none of these men who were invited shall taste of my supper.

This was a very crucial moment for Zacchaeus , but he obeyed . He did exactly what Jesus told him to do . He believed what Jesus said to him .

Look at verse five again . Jesus said : “for to day I must abide at thy house.”

Jesus did not say “ I want to save your soul today “ , “come and say the sinners prayer with Me “ .

No much ,much more was in store for Zacchaeus to receive . You see when Jesus ABIDE in your HOUSE . That is ABIDE in YOU . Then nothing can come against you and overpower you . No sickness can overpower you , no economic crises can overpower you , nothing can take you down , because you have a Kingdom restored in you , in your house !

THAT what was lost, is restored to you .

Zacchaeus's FAITH was quickened . That brings great joy and enthusiasm .

(6) And hurrying he came down, and received Him joyfully.

Luke 19:7 MKJV

(7) And seeing, they all murmured, saying, He has gone in to stay with a sinful man.

Religious people who go to church every Sunday ,but don't know the joy to have Jesus in them ,will always find fault when the Kingdom of God comes into operation in a person .

Romans 14:17 KJV

(17) For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Zacchaeus experienced every one of these aspects of the Kingdom of God .

Luke 19:8-10 KJV

8. And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.

After the test the PROOF of a test passed will always come . Zacchaeus wasn't in the presence of Jesus very long ,and already it had a very profound influence on his WHOLE life , on everything he owned , on his whole approach to other people , on his whole economic and righteousness approach. What a change in his life . He was not only saved from sin ,he received ,much ,much more . He could see and understand the Kingdom and it's riches for the first time . He came with enthusiasm to see Jesus ,but he received much , mush more . He also received a test ,and it proved him to be a small man with a huge heart for God . How awesome it is still today when you find such a man or woman , fit to enter into the Kingdom of God .

(9) And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.

(10) For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

My prayer is that you will also have the life changing experience to fill your house with the Kingdom of God .
